Just get a PC that supports more than 1 internal drive. (most of mine have a second 1-2T drive.
Most (business class) Mid Tower PC do. I mentioned Business class because I bought a Dell at a local store and it did not even have 1 extra Drive power connection over what was fitted. ( I was adding an extra USB3 card that need extra power via the common drive power connection. Insane cost reduction)
Nothing wrong with Synology, (I back up to mine) just that Calibre does file operations that MUST happen together and not have something manipulating those files while running. (no active sync)
