I've noticed that in many epub files, the bookmarks I make don't seem to be connected to a position. If I try to use them they don't navigate anywhere, and if I sort by title and then try sorting by position in the book, the order doesn't change.

I suspect this must be an issue with the epub files? And, if so, is there a fix (or multiple possible fixes)?

I am running Calibre 6.23 on OSX Ventura 13.4.1
