You have to copy the file "update_kernel" into the root-folder of the sd card.
When powering up your cybook make sure you keep the centerbutton pressed once the first boot image is shown and don't release it.
Then you will see a new screen explaining that the update is in progress - wait for it to finish and you should be fine.
