If it is IN your Calibre, then Calibre controls (must, because it needs to know where it is) the entire Library structure.

Some metadata (Title, Author) will move (or rename) files.
Treat the entire Library as a Black Box with a sign 'Keep out'

Send/save to... is how you get copies for devices: Those allow templates to manipulate the file name . BUT all but my first device use the books Metadata for what it shows me on the bookshelves. I could use the template {id} and my Kobo or Kindle would still show me the book title and author. All that is needed is a unique filename as part of the transfer.

Let the Librarian (Calibre) do the lifting
