As I said in another reply, I'm not talking about sort order on the KIndle itself, which is not affected, but the sort order in the Device display in calibre. I tried it again today and can confirm the same strange behavior. Click the TITLE column so items are sort A-Z. Then select an item (last week's Economist) in the "E" part of the list. Right click and select "remove" etc. The item is removed/deleted, the list refreshes but is now sorted in reverse order. Z-A and a random item in the "S" part of the list is selected (instead of the nearest undeleted item in the "E" section.
Now I select and delete an item in the "L" part of the list. The list refreshes but it remains in the same reversed order "Z-A". It doesn't re-reverse the list. It seems to prefer Z-A as default order. But then there is a new item selected in the "N" part of the list, instead of an item adjacent to the now deleted item in the "L" part of the list.
I also performed these same steps in the regular calibre library list and can confirm this does not happen there. The selected item is removed from the library, the sort order DOES NOT reverse, and the newly selected item is the neighbor of the deleted item. As it should be.
