In case anyone was wondering what I was trying to do. I subscribe to 10 or so news feeds in Calibre that are emailed to my Kindle. After a while the back issues pile up. Occasionally I delete them from the Amazon cloud using a browser. But the copies are still on the device. So I like to use calibre to get rid of these back issues.
I sort everything A-Z in Calibre and move methodically down the list. If I find 12 issues of the New Yorker, I'll select 10 of them to delete and hit "remove books". When the items are deleted I'd expect the list to refresh but remain sorted A-Z with the cursor or selected row still where I left off, probably right at one of those remaining two New Yorkers. Then I can continue down the list till I come to the next group of back issues.
But the calibre scramble drill after the deletions kind of messes up the process. I hadn't done this in quite a while, but I don't recall having this happen any other times I've done it.
My v calibre version is the latest. (Sorry I don't remember the number, I don't have my computer with me.) The Kindle is the Oasis, the most recent version.
