Wow. You know you are dealing with a genuine novice (my first post to a help forum) when she is unable to parse the answer to her query.
Is MDE the metadata editor? And if so, the original_epub is not listed there as an available format, if that is what I am supposed to select. Despite the fact that it shows up in calibre under the format column.
