However DRM tends to not just prevent edits but lock to one user's device for casual user. A determined user can remove the DRM, or as a last resort capture an image of every page and then OCR (or image edit).
Having something/anything publicly distributed so no-one can edit it is only partially successful and creates problems for the users.
