Ghastly posters and newsletters, sometimes not just a different font on each line, but multiple fonts per line. I know six year olds with more sense!
I still have ghastly memories of when people first started using Macs and LaserWriters to do newsletters. One common term for the barely readable results was 'ransom note'. Of course, on a Mac you could get the same effect using the San Francisco font. Microsoft not to be left out actually had a font called Ransom.
