But it's not so simple with books purchased elsewhere than Amazon. Kindles work best with Amazon purchases/loans; not so well with books obtained elsewhere. More than a half of my ebooks are not Amazon purchases. And some of them (Estonian books) have never been listed on Amazon and so it wouldn't be possible to add a mobi-asin to them.
