I just tied some old ascm files that would not work because they were expired now seen to be download the ebook.

disregard the text in teh spoiler.

Spoiler:
It means that your ASCM file has expired and you need to re-download it.

I just checked some ascm files from Kobo and they seem to be good for about 6 hours.
