Brand new Kobo owner here, as in I got my first Kobo, a Libra 2, on June 9th, and it was working great until it updated. Since then I've had sort of similar issues to what @beowulf_lives reported. I only have epubs but I've had numerous hang issues trying to go to the next page. I've had it close the epub I was reading and go back to 1% read no matter where I was in it. It's rebooted itself without any prompting from me while in the middle of reading. I have one of those "Sleep "Mode" covers but on several occasions the Libra 2 has refused to come out of Sleep until I've pressed the power button on the back several times.

I guess this is my long-winded way of asking, since it is so new, that it's okay to roll it back to v4.35 based on the instructions @ZodWallup linked to previously.
All of my previous ereaders have been Nooks or Kindles so I either never had the option or the risk of bricking my device outweighed what I felt were minimal gains by rooting it.
