I've seen all these "horrible examples" and so-called proof of the advent of AI....for
the last nearly-15 years. Am I a time-traveller? Was AI affecting what was being published, in 2010, 11 and 12? Because there ain't nuthin' new to see here.
As you will all recall, I came in mainly on the commercial side, way back, from the jump. So, I've seen...well, I've seen it
all. I have the Thousand-Word stare. The Cover Design Cringe...yup, all.
The books that get pointed out to me, as "proof" that something is AI--those are
laughable.
They aren't one iota different than the dreadful, badly translated (Yes, I'm lookin' at you, Google) books of poetry, etc. that we've all been looking at since PG tried to pull its head back into the burrow, all those years ago.
SSDD. Has nothing to do with AI. God save us all,
if AI had written them, they'd be dramatically BETTER.
