Well, most people use several smart devices/computers/tablets these days (as compared to when Calibre was first released), so the assumption is pretty natural.

I felt the need for two-way cloud syncing of my library myself a couple of years back, when I used two laptops regularly (the smaller on the go and the larger as my daily driver at home, and I tinkered with my library on both). I did use Dropbox then, and had to run library maintenance all the time, because errors crept in, no matter how careful I was. At the moment I only use my main laptop for calibre work, but some day I might need more than that again. It's a pity Calibre can't be made compatible with cloud syncing, IMO.
