As @DNSB suggested, do make sure your File Browser is checked under View. Also, it's worth verifying that the EPUB you created is valid.
Another thing to consider is if there were any errors during the conversion from Word to EPUB. Sometimes, formatting issues or other inconsistencies can cause a problem. You might want to try converting the Word doc again, just to rule that out.
If all else fails, consider updating or reinstalling Calibre. Sometimes, a fresh start can iron out any unexpected glitches.
