for me the elipsa (1) was 320 dollars including the sleep cover case. if i got the elipsa 2e, with the official kobo case it would be around 465.
the reason i wanted an elipsa in the first place was mostly for studying and notetaking. while i love my comfort light of my libra2 and that very comfort on the elipsa 2e was compelling. the price point of the 2e was just too steep for me.
if i were to read in bed or at night i'd be using my libra2 :P its onehanded and lightweight.
i also prefer the chassis of the elipsa (1), almost metallic. the 2e is ecologically conscious and i admire that, but i believe it is too an ecologically conscious decision to buy an older make of a device that people are less inclined to pick up.
the processor of the 2e is 2 hz compared to the 1.8 hz on the 1. and the libra2 has a processor of 1hz. i mean, the libra2 runs at the speed that i consider fine enough, so 1.8 hz on the 1 is a happy upgrade, and the extra .2 is not a big deal to me.
i am very very happy with my choice with the 1. the unboxing experience also felt quite premium, it felt like a kind of special experience opening it up!
might seem like strange reasons, but that's why for me i made my choice :P
