A rebuild can be rewarding. Particularly if you've been using something like koreader for a very long time, on rebuild you may find new/better ways to do what you want, or just entirely new features. You may even decide stock Kobo is now good enuf.
It's kind of like how teaching can be the best method of further learning once you are already knowledgeable in a field.
