With a database corruption, there's no need to do a factory reset. Logging out of your account and logging in again triggers the rebuilding of the DB. You will lose reading status/notes/highlights/collections for sideloaded books, but the files themselves will still be on the device (purchased books will be available through the cloud as usual).
