[Tab Ultra C] Google Drive and 2 Factor Authentication
Has anyone else tried to set up their Tab Ultra C with a Google account that uses security keys for 2FA
I have set up 2FA on my Google account using authentication code and FIDO security keys. When logging in, by default Google chooses the most secure 2FA method, i.e. security keys, and this behaviour cannot be changed - it is determined by algorithm, and there seems to be a bug where security key will remain the default option even if you delete all keys on your account.
When logging into Google Play Store, I could choose to use authentication codes instead of security keys, so everything works as intended. But when I attempted to link Ultra C to Google Drive, it uses the device's default web browser (neo browser) to log in, and it gets stuck on the 2FA page. The page wants me to insert my security key, but Ultra C only recognises the key as a keyboard, and there appears no way to choose authentication code as an alternative method.
In the end I was able to get around this by temporarily disabling 2FA on my Google account, but this resets my authentication codes and backup codes, so that's midly inconvenient. Perhaps I could have gotten around it by setting Google Chrome as the default browser instead - that thought didn't cross my mind at the time.
