I finished listening to Cixin Liu's Three Body Problem. I generally enjoyed it--I even laughed out loud in several places (which rates high marks). The narration was excellent. It's very clever and fun, but ultimately there were no memorable characters. I've said before that I don't need to like, or identify with, characters to enjoy a book, but I do need them to be distinguishable and have autonomy. For me, Three Body Problem's plethora of characters existed solely to convey the wit and clever ideas the author wished to discuss. They never developed further than that. They were not integral to the story.
Still... I will probably follow up on the other books in this series at some point, but I feel no compulsion to immediately dive back into it.
