Calibre just downloaded the synopsis (the only one it could find) for a new book and it only had blurbs and a couple of sentences about the writer. I had to find the description of the book myself and copy and paste it.
Lately I've been more mindful about what in the synopsis, since I like to let Calibre add it to the start of the book when transferring it to my Kindle. That way I can quickly read it when looking for a new books to read. At some point I will have to go through all of my books in Calibre and adjust it, probably for most books. I'm dreading that task.

What you are describing is a blurb. A blurb is the description of the book. It's not just the review bits.
What I don't like is when review stuff is mixed in with the description of the book. Then I have to remove it or edit it to remove the review part if it's mixed in.
