It's only possible if you have previously jailbroken your device. There's a thread in this sub forum describing the process.
If you haven't previously jailbroken your device, then you'll need to wait until a new exploit is discovered/developed into a usable solution.
Your best bet is to try and keep the device on this version by keeping it in airplane mode and transfer books via USB+PC. No internet means no pushed updates.
