If we're looking to avoid ambiguity then the options should be:

yyyy-mm-dd

Or variations of:
dd-mmm-yyyy eg: 2-Jun-2023
mmm-dd yyyy eg: Jun-2 2023

Then again, just having a date of any sort would help a lot of articles on the web.
