I find all footnotes (even with numbers) a pain to hit.
That's why I LOVE my "flipit" button that alternates between text and footnotes.
Another rant: I hate when they format EACH footnote as a separate page.
At the very least that screws up page count.
A "500 page book" and it ends at page 250.
