We watched the Lidia Poët thing on Netflix.

It was...okay. It's based on a true story, of an early women's rights pioneer, the first female almost-lawyer in Italy (Turin). She graduated college, gradulated law school (such as it was at the time) and then yes, passed the bar and was entered into the practice thereof, but the Turin AG filed a lawsuit to have her struck from the Bar. Because she was a woman, no other reason. She was indeed struck; her appeals denied.

I shan't say more, don't want to ruin it for anybody. It's highly fictionalized (she never lived in any mansionette or villa in Turin, for example), AND--more importantly, to me, like the sister-of-Sherlock-Holmes character, Enola, she's a Mary Sue (which always gets on my last nerve), but....it's fairly watchable if you like that sort of thing.

Did anybody watch Freud? Also on Netflix? A fictionalized bit where he teams up with some psychic or medium to solve crimes? I started Ep 1 and didn't get very far, but if it's any good, I might be willing to do some more trudging...
