Lol, that's what I was looking at, too. The Linux 4GB version was just too underpowered for my taste.
I don't need it but it sure would be a nice replacement to my 13.3" laptop. I've always wanted an ultra-portable that runs full operating systems for travel. Even my laptop's too big and a smartphone just won't cut it. I was originally planning on buying one of those Fujitsu LifeBook Tablet PCs (they have 8.9" models) even before netbooks were released. However, those are way too expensive for simple web browsing (~$2,000) and general computer use. Sure, the cheapie netbooks aren't touchscreen, but for the price difference, I think I'll make do.
For those curious about performance, I built a desktop using the dual-core Atom board (D945GCLF2) for fun, and I found it to be surprisingly capable. I have Windows Vista Ultimate installed and I can even watch over-the-air HD (720p/1080i MPEG2) recordings on it. I did max out the RAM, though, and the dual-core Atom is likely better than the single-core one found in netbooks. Regardless, for those with simple needs (check email, simple net surfing) and good eyesight, a netbook is a pretty good computer.
