No, having a lot of books does not reduce battery life on the K2. I have 1,200 on mine.

However, if you addded those 1,000 books all at once, the K2 *does* have to index them all. And that will take 1-2 days and considerably drain the battery. After it's done indexing, your battery life will go back to normal.

So you were right the first time. The customer service rep WAS clueless.
