You missed this: "I used the sqlite3 mod to bypass the registration".
I just did a factory reset of my Clara 2e, and did the registration bypass sqlite3 mod. I did not turn on WiFi, or do anything else. The bogus entries under Series and Author are still there. They must be baked in somehow.
There must be a way to remove them, without having to create an account (even a fake one). I only use sideloaded books. Please, don't tell me that it's so easy to create a fake account. I know all about it, and don't want to go that route.
