Damn, that will make debugging trickier...
Answers:
- Single-book "Edit Metadata". I also noticed it happening when I accept/apply changes in bulk edit.
- Only one book selected.
- The selected book disappears from the screen. If I edit the first book in the list, it doesn't move. If I edit book #10 (with #1 visible), the list scroll to #6 at the top. If I edit book #61 (at the top of the screen), the list scrolls to #1026.
- It happens as soon as I open the Edit Metadata dialog, with mouse or keyboard shortcut.
- It only affects vertical scrolling, as far as I can see.
- I have Kobo Utilities, Prince PDF, Reading List, Unplugged and View Manager.
- I'm not sure when it started, I just noticed it now. It could have been already with the change from 5 to 6 (which I did only recently).
- No messages with calibre-debug -g
Also, I doubt very much it has anything to do with the keyboard, given that it's a quite consistent behavior, happens with mouse-only actions and there are bogus keypresses in other programs.
This is Kubuntu 22.04, by the way.
Regarding a calibre downgrade, how far back can I go without risking a database damage or something?
