Even before digital, when older comics would be reprinted on whiter Baxter paper you could see the issues. Many of the older, classic comics were not recolored on their initial digital release and look the worse for it.

Inept republishing. OTOH we have loads of hard back "Peanuts", and in cardback Tintin and Asterix on good white paper that are perfectly fine.
