The IBM PC appeared almost 20Y
after I graduated from HS.
I did work with Mini's (DEC PDP-8L) in the 70's. No Graphics, No CRT. An ASR33 Teletype was I/O (7 bit ASCII). I mostly bootstrapped myself into the Information age (I was a trained Electronics tech).
But I also voted Tax $ to the schools so they could prepare students
