The problem is who decides? I remember a piccie of an angora rabbit in an old thread that I thought was more distressing than the cat-in-a-microwave one - but that was considered ok as far as I recall.

Also, people could get upset for being considered cruel when no such intent was meant.

It does seem that cats have a special status in many people's eyes.

P.S. I see there's a new thread about cooking bacon, with a video (I haven't watched) - to tag, or not to tag? I'm not objecting to it, even though I don't want to see it; but we could object to stuff all day just because it pushes our personal 'distasteful' button.
