I successfully applied several patches to my Clara HD. I may be missing something, but I don't see a patch to disable the Kobo Store option at the bottom of the Home screen. I managed to turn off the others by enabling the Reading Stats Only patch. I'd actually like to disable that one too, so there is nothing beneath My Books and Unread Books.

With those things turned off, it would be nice to have the rest of the Home screen use that space. If that isn't possible, then just leaving it blank will be OK.
