The other day I updated a Kobo Aura H2O Edition 1 from Version 4.15.12920 to 4.35.20400. One time after rebooting following the update I got a pop-up ad for Kobo Plus. It went away and I haven't seen it since. Now sometimes there is a small notice at the bottom of the Home screen which says "Read as much as you want with a Kobo Plus subscription". This notice is next to "Find your next book in Kobo Plus or our store" and the other little blurbs that rotate through the Home screen.

It does not show at all on the My Books screen where I usually leave my Kobo. Except for the one-time pop-up I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't read about it here.
