This is really puzzling.
Why are you trying to turn the screen back on when your Kobo is connected to the computer? Do what you need to do on the computer—copying files, editing configuration files, whatever and then safely eject your Kobo. No reading or whatever. If you want to use your Kobo while it is charging, hit cancel on the connect screen.

If your Kobo is on it's normal screen, it can not have a USB data connection to your computer and you won't be able to do anything from your computer other than charge your Aura One.
