To mix things up a bit, I'm going to suggest a couple of my old favorites. First, you might have a look at CS Friedman's old "Coldfire" trilogy. (It's going to seem like fantasy, but it's not. Well, I mean, it kind of is. But it's not. It's complicated.)

Another book that looks like fantasy but isn't, and which is most definitely dystopian, is "A Plague of Angels" by Sheri S. Tepper:

"A Plague of Angels" has at least one follow-on book, BTW, "The Waters Rising", which I hated, but YMMV ...
