Can't run installed and portable at the same time
I just downloaded and installed Calibre portable version 6.2.1 onto a flash drive. My Windows 10 computer has 6.12 installed. I want to use both versions, separately. I put the flash drive into a usb port on the computer and opened the folder "Calibre Portable", then click "calibre-portable.exe". But then instead of a new instance of an empty Calibre opening, the version 6.12 opens up with all my books. I have read everything I could find online but cannot find an answer. How can I run the portable version on a stand-alone basis on my computer that has another later version already installed? Thanks for any help you can give me. Edit: I figured it out. I just had to reboot the computer.......
Edit #2: That worked okay until I closed the portable and opened the native. After that, even after closing the native local calibre, when I tried to open the portable the native local one opened instead. Sigh. Do I have to reboot the computer each time I want to switch I wonder?
