The Kobo Plus books are loans not purchases. You are intended to synchronize them to your Kobo ereader or app. Removing DRM and/or keeping them permanently is, IMHO, not acceptable use of the books.
They will download for reading in the Kobo desktop app but they will not show as downloaded though you can read them. Obok will show them but not remove the DRM from copies in your Kobo desktop app library. You can copy them into your calibre library but without DRM removal, it's not really useful.
One item to note is that in your Kobo desktop app downloads, the books show with a GUID as the name and no file extension.
