Why on earth don't all software developers and testers (at the very least of a certain, well known company) have to use ridiculously old computers. I fail to understand why it takes so long on PCs running their software. Same hardware, booted into any of a range of Linux distros does almost all the same operations in a tiny fraction of the time. Now if they had to use aged, slow computers they would have a reason for spending time making the software run faster, rather than ensuring that the software requires n-quillion BluRay's for their distribution.
And whilst I'm at it, why don't they use proper compilers... First off, their language is just different enough to break things if you try porting. Next they invariably result in programs that run far slower. And then they pack it all up in an annoying development environment that they update in a non-compatible form every year or two. Any why the heck do they need such huge intermediary files..........
