That means the files went missing/corrupt, which might be worrisome if that happened OTA and said OTA didn't actually fail.

(i.e., this behavior is usually mostly experienced on a fresh install when you forget to prevent Nickel from indexing the addons directory, you fix it after the fact, which causes it to delete the icons ;o)).
