I have not noticed any ghosting. I have the Paperwhite 4 (2018) and 5 (2021 actually), and, except for portability, the latter is superior in every way that it is not the same. No new Paperwhite came out in 2022, but the Scribe did. That's also a good device if you want a larger screen.
