I installed IE8 yesterday on my PC at work. The system was pretty fresh (s/w wise), less then a month old. IE8 takes about x3 longer to start than latest FF or IE7. It caused a problem to BD. For some inexplicable reason, it would take about 30 seconds to load BD instead of a snap of fingers.
Instead of uninstalling it, I have decided to use System Restore utility that comes with windows XP. After that, IE7 would open up for 1 second and close down of its own. I re-installed IE8, though it might cure the problem...No way.
I had to use restore from Ghost image.

Spec's of my PC at work are:
Dell Optiplex 280GX, Win XP SP3.

You have been warned.
