As you will see from
this GitHub issue there is a long-standing request to create a kobopatch to *not* auto-convert Series metadata to UPPERCASE in the Kobo GUI booklists. @geek1011 said he'd "have a look when he had time". If you note the date on the original request you'll see that perhaps you shouldn't hold your breath.
