It's consistent with their platform approach. I'm only surprised that it's taking this long to get it working better, given Amazon's resources, and the way they have positioned Scribe.

I didn't get a Scribe to read, much less mark up PDFs (I don't have many PDFs to begin with), so I don't care if it is real PDF or not. But they have failed to deliver anything like equivalent functionality to date.

Even so, I'm delighted with mine. It's a 95% full glass for me. When they get this working better it will be icing on the cake. And water under the bridge, etc.

When I discover what prevents my PDF from converting, we'll have a way to send a PDF without a wire, at least temporarily.

I suspect it has to do with the size of the TOC it is trying to create in the converted document. I had similar issue converting an ePub with a large TOC. Seems like you can only have a a hundred or so (or maybe it is 7 bit, has to be less than 128!).
