This is worth knowing. It makes me feel better about getting the bundle without doing a trade-in. I had originally planned to do a trade-in before Prime Day and get a Scribe then. But they had a sale last month, and when I found a bundle for the high end Scribe for $325.97, I ordered it. With tax, it came to $352.05. It turned out that I wasn't satisfied with the cover, and I didn't need the power adapter. Fortunately, I was able to return them, and I got refunded $71.82. This brought my cost for the high end Scribe down to $280.23. Given that the original price was $419.99, the 15% discount I was sometimes seeing would bring that down to $356.99, and an additional 20% discount due to a trade-in would bring it down to $285.59. Since this is still the pre-tax price, and I paid less than that for the total price, I came off pretty well and got to keep the Paperwhite 4 I had been planning to trade in.
I also bought a couple of extra cases and returned one. The case I kept cost me $17.19 on ebay, and the case I returned cost me a total of $28.07 minus the $21.08 refund I got. So, altogether, my costs were $304.41. If it weren't for the case I returned, they would be $297.42.
