2015 Nook Glowlight Plus/Calibre connection interrupted, now Calibre hates the Nook

So I had my 2015 Nook Glowlight Plus connected to Calibre and my flaky cable gave up the ghost and interrupted the Nook's connection to Calibre.

I've replaced the cable. But now when I try to connect the Nook, Calibre connects it, but takes FOREVER to read the list of books on the device (I literally left it connected for 24 hours). It never actually gets the list of books. The progress bar does slowly increase, but inevitably, I will get a message saying 'Error communicating with device'. And the Nook only has 4GB of memory, 2.5GB for books.

I'm not at home right now, but this would be the current version of Calibre on Windows 10.

The Nook otherwise works fine. I dragged and dropped the ePub I'd been wanting to add and it worked fine.

Calibre otherwise works fine. No issues connecting to my Nook ST, Clara HD or Clara 2e.

So the Nook is fine and Calibre is fine. They just don't like each other.

I have rebooted the Nook, Calibre and the PC. None of these changed anything.
