In Calibre library, run the Convert Books function. Convert it to epub v3 (preferably) which seems to fix the issue. You'll notice both images are deleted as they were not used anywhere, so if you want one to remain, right click on it and Set as cover.

I have a Kindle Oasis, is the epub going to be just as easy to read as the azw3 on that?
