Yes, KF8 (no azw6) is the format I prefer to get since my aim is to convert to epub. Purchased books that is.

Thanks for your investigations into the KU stuff. That falls into more trouble than its worth for me, but I like knowing the possibilities. I'll just read KU books as is myself though.
