Thanks would love to know if it is just this device. Perhaps it was banned and Amazon changed how that is displayed when you try to register it. Although if that was the case I don't think they would keep sending me One Time Passwords.

Is the current version for a Kindle Touch (4th Generation)

The 4.1.4 is for Kindle (4th and 5th Generation not touch apparently). But still worth testing to see if it registers I think since they should be roughly the same age and if Amazon cut off registrations for the Kindle touch I think the others would be as well.
