It actually came to a partial resolution in Ch 8. I have the feeling that the last chapter and the epilogue will tie up some loose ends, but there's a feel good point at the end of Ch 8, if you want to cheat and start reading now. Or I could be totally wrong, and there's a surprise ending coming...
